The First One...

So lately I've been thinking of sharing my stories and life experiences as a professional pilot. I am not much of a writer and don't exactly know why I have this feeling that I "need" to share, but here I go. My wife, Jenny, has one of these blogs which is, more or less, about the struggles of living as a single mom for half of every month...trying to juggle the lives of 4 year old and a 2 year old (my crazy kids, Hunter and Ainsley). My hope is not to necessarily elaborate on her blogs about family life, but to share some of my thoughts and stories as I am away from my family, wandering around the west coast in an airplane for 15 to 16 days out of every month. I often have these things happen to me at work that don't go beyond my fellow crew members and aren't shared with my friends or family that are held inside and aren't "discussed" outside of work. I seem to think that this would be a great avenue to share those experiences. Not that anyone will read about them, but at least I have a place to "share" them. I guess I could say that this is just the ramblings of an airline pilot or, as my blog name states, a dim light in a big sky...

  2. When we are talking about a dim light, this doesn't have anything to do with your mental capabilities does it sweetie??????

  3. Jen - If you know me and you have to ask that question...then I would say you are the one with the "dim light"...

  5. A new one has been brewing in my head and it will be good...sorry Jon no 7 steps, but it does involve a "Sully moment" with birds and the dangers of a lighter in an airplane...
And Chip, you can push that button ALL DAY LONG, up in the cockpit is one place you won't hear it and the single most reason I chose the pilot route instead of the flight attendant route...
